2005 Majesty Honoree ![]() Charles Beady Jr. Ph.D. Educator |
Dr. Charles H. Beady, Jr. is a researcher, author, lecturer, professional cartoonist, and teacher. He has combined his research and expertise in the area of academic motivation with his talents as a professional cartoonist, and has written and illustrated motivational materials which have been used by student, teacher, and parent groups around the country. He has also authored a number of scholarly publications. In August of 1984, Dr. Beady joined The Piney Woods School as provost until the retirement of President James S. Wade in June of 1985, when he was appointed the school’s third president. Dr. Beady is aware of the importance of his responsibility to the historical Piney Woods School and what he must do to perpetuate the rich legacy begun by his predecessors, Dr. Laurence C. Jones (founder) and Dr. James S. Wade. He subscribes to the tenet that ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN --- the cornerstone of the Effective Schools philosophy currently in operation at The Piney Woods School --- GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY AND SOMEONE WHO IS COMMITTED TO TEACH THEM. He believes a good teacher constitutes one who is knowledgeable and shows love, patience, dedication, resourcefulness and concern. |
