His commitment to God and church has led to service at the local, state and national levels.

A native of Scott, Mississippi, Dr. Young has served as chairman of the Biracial Baptist Commission and the Mayor's Community and Economic Development Commission. Presently, Dr. Young serves as President of the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc., and as 2nd V.P. of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., where he is Regional V.P. for the Southwest Region. This spiritual and community leader is adamant about investing his time, talent and treasure towards to advancement of the kingdom of God.
